In 1882, Julius Adam II began to paint his animalist works, especially those depicting cats. These (mostly small) paintings brought him a worldwide recognition (he was called “Katzenraphael” (“Cat-Raphael”) or “Katzen-Adam” (“Cat-Adam”) by his contemporaries).
“Der Patient” (English: “The patient”) - one of the most well-known cat paintings by Munich artist Julius Adam II (or Julius Adam the Younger). It is mentioned in Saur’s Artist Dictionary among Adam’s five most acclaimed works at international art exhibition in Munich. The artist received a gold medal for this group of paintings.
